FC Volendam starts preparation with convincing victory
FC Volendam kicked off their preparation for the new Eredivisie season with a strong performance. The team defeated FC Groningen 4-0 in a friendly match at VV Gieten. The win came during a mini-training camp that also included team-building activities.

Erwin van de Looi's team started well and took the lead after ten minutes through Nordin Bukala. After halftime, FC Volendam took control of the game. Daan Bisschops, Robin van Cruijsen, and Tiago Codinha scored the other goals. Jaïr Haakmat made his debut in the starting lineup after signing his contract earlier this week.
How did FC Volendam combine training with team-building?
Alongside football activities, there was also time for team-building. The players participated in a pub quiz and played Hitster during their stay near Zwolle. Daan Huisman, who joined FC Volendam this summer, said: "I've been super well received." The FC Volendam substitutes will play a friendly against Lusail SC from Qatar on Friday.
What's next for FC Volendam?
FC Volendam will conclude their preparation with a home match against Ajax on August 2. Last season, they finished 14th in the Eredivisie with 28 points (7W-7D-16L) and a goal difference of 31-50. Their first official match of the new season is on November 20 against Jong Ajax.
