Daniël Beukers returns to FC Volendam on a one-season loan. The 22-year-old defender is being loaned from FC Volendam and will join the IJsselmeervogels squad, where he previously played in the youth academy. He made seven appearances for FC Volendam's first team this season, scoring one goal. Last season, he played 25 league matches for FC Emmen in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Beukers is naturally a right-back but can also operate as a left-back and has been used occasionally in central or advanced wide positions during his time at AZ and FC Emmen. The IJsselmeervogels technical committee said: "Daniël is a Spakenburger, a local boy who knows the club and is deployable on both full-back positions." He will join the squad next week and be assigned a shirt number. This move comes as Toer Bouwman has departed for Quick Boys and Amin Moumouh faces a longer-than-expected recovery from injury. Beukers played youth football for IJsselmeervogels until 2018 before moving to AZ, where he was part of the Under 19 side that won the 2023 UEFA Youth League. In that tournament, he scored twice in the semi-final against Real Madrid. After progressing through Jong AZ, he joined FC Groningen in 2023 and signed for FC Volendam a year later. His versatility is valuable given the current defensive situation. You can follow FC Volendam's upcoming fixtures on our fixtures page.
