FC Volendam has appointed Jos de Kruif as its new general director, effective 1 September. The 48-year-old former commercial director of SC Cambuur replaces Piet van der Pol, who left after one year. De Kruif was commercial director at SC Cambuur during the 2023/24 season and will leave after a year. He begins his new role on 1 September in Volendam.
New Director
De Kruif has extensive experience in commercial management, particularly at SC Cambuur, where he worked from 2022. He also spent five years at Willem II and was involved with the UEFA in sponsorship, ticketing, and stadium operations. Rob Bootsman, chairman of the Board of Commissioners, describes De Kruif as a 'connector' who offers much to learn in commercial terms.
Club Ambition
De Kruif emphasizes on FC Volendam's website that the club is 'ambitious and sympathetic' with talent development as a key pillar. 'I am particularly grateful to the club for giving me the chance to work with staff and volunteers to further the growth of the club,' he states. 'This lays a solid foundation for structurally successful sports performance.' De Kruif aims to help the club achieve its growth and sporting goals.
