FC Volendam says goodbye to Michael Dingsdag, former SC Heerenveen defender, who worked as assistant coach at the club. Dingsdag was appointed in 2023 as coach of Jong FC Volendam and as assistant coach of the first team. He had two games in charge as interim coach, just before the winter break of 2023. Another assistant coach, Hidde van Boven, is also leaving the club. FC Volendam announced Dingsdag's departure themselves. In 2006, he joined SC Heerenveen as a player, where he would stay until the summer of 2010. He played 150 official games in the first team, scoring three times. Similar developments at FC Volendam are rare. The club has lost few assistant coaches in the past. But now FC Volendam has to look for a new assistant coach. The club has not yet appointed a replacement. It is still unclear who the new assistant coach will be. FC Volendam must find a solution quickly, because the season has already started. The club cannot play without an assistant coach. It is an important position at the club. FC Volendam must therefore find someone who can take over Dingsdag's task quickly.
