FC Volendam lost their Eerste Divisie match away to Jong AZ on Friday. The team from Volendam had 45% possession and were forced to make six saves to limit the damage.
The match statistics paint a mixed picture. FC Volendam completed 381 of their 473 passes, a success rate of over 80%. Jong AZ, however, were far more dangerous in front of goal, forcing fourteen saves from the visitors. The home team registered ten shots on target compared to Volendam's three.
The defeat leaves FC Volendam tenth in the Eerste Divisie table with six points from four games. The team has scored eleven goals and conceded five so far this season. The upcoming fixtures offer a chance to bounce back, starting with a home game against De Graafschap on October 30th.
Head coach Regillio Simons's squad must find the right balance between possession and cutting edge. Their last five league results show inconsistent form with one win, one draw, and three defeats. The full squad list and individual player stats are available in our club data.
