FC Volendam signs Reuven Niemeijer
FC Volendam presents a new summer signing today. The 31-year-old Reuven Niemeijer is in Volendam until the summer of 2028 after a transfer-free departure from De Graafschap. The midfielder played the last two seasons in Doetinchem.
At the Superboeren, Niemeijer had 36 games with 19 goals last season. Before his period at De Graafschap, he played for Heracles Almelo, FC Emmen, RKC Waalwijk, Brescia and Excelsior.
Niemeijer got a 'good feeling' after the conversation with trainer Erwin van de Looi and technical director Patrick Busby. "They have a clear plan with FC Volendam and that speaks to me", it can be read in the press release. "It would be nice to promote and at the same time be important for the team with goals and assists. I hope that we can make a nice season together and get to the Kras Stadium quickly against TOP Oss."
Van Cruijsen's successor
"After Robin van Cruijsen's departure to Sparta Rotterdam, we have acted adequately and quickly switched to Reuven", Busby said. "Reuven is really the desired reinforcement to increase our attacking performance. At the same time, Reuven brings experience and passion! Reuven will join the group tomorrow and will train directly."
